The Otter Team gives local Gravenhurst/South Muskoka area kids opportunities to participate in activities, sports and adventures which are otherwise not easily accessible to them. During the warmer seasons we get the kids out fishing, exploring the wilderness and nature, bike rides, skatepark outings, baseball, tennis, and out to local community events for kids and families.
Once winter arrives our attention turns to hockey, learning to skate and fun in the snow!
The Otter Team is 100% free to the kids, volunteer-run, entirely self-supported out of our own pockets and with the very kind help of generous private donations (mostly gear and supplies the kids can use).
To help pay for gear and supplies for kids our fundraising activities include:
- The sale of original artwork and prints at local art and craft sales.
- Event and sports action photography services for players/teams in our local hockey and baseball leagues.
- Occasional garage sales (most done online through sites like Kijiji).
